Cooperation with Baltic Sea Region Programme projects

BERAS Implementation has cooperated with other Baltic Sea Region Programme projects in the conferences A Greener Agriculture for a Bluer Baltic Sea and in the project Baltic Impulse – Baltic Sea Region Programme Water Cluster.
This cooperation corresponds with the main output Others: A forum will be established under auspices of HELCOM integrating agriculture and environmental issues in cooperation with the BSR-Interreg project Compass and BSR-Interreg project Baltic Deal.

A Greener Agriculture for a Bluer Baltic Sea

From the first Greener Agriculture for a Bluer Baltic Sea (GABBS) conference, arranged by Baltic Deal and WWF, the event has grown from 90 participants in 2009 to well over 250 in 2013. The fifth GABBS conference is an excellent example of the cooperation of several projects in the Baltic Sea Region Programme 2007-2013 in agro-environmental issues around the Baltic Sea. Along with the size of the event, the number of organisers has grown throughout the years. Communication Manager of BERAS Implementation, Kim Westerling, was part of the organising committee of GABBS established last December. Project coordinator Artur Granstedt gave a contribution during the conference presenting a systemic perspective on the integration of animal and crop production. A report from the latest conference is available here. This includes a joint statement with policy recommendations to be included in the Baltic Sea Action Plan.

Baltic Impulse

Baltic Impulse is a cluster of nine environmental projects running under Baltic Sea Region Programme 2007 - 2013. The aim of the cluster is to ensure further use of outcomes of the projects and increase their visibility. The cluster, Baltic Impulse, aims also to intensify exchange of experiences and ideas and further development of cooperation through cluster partner workshops. The clustered projects are Baltic Compass, Baltic Deal, Baltic Manure, BERAS Implementation, COHIBA, Presto, PURE, SMOCS and Waterpraxis. The cluster will run from September 2012 to September 2013.

The cluster has produced a synthesis report where findings from partnering projects have been gathered together:

Baltic Impulse: Sustainable resource management for a healthy Baltic Sea

The Joint Technical Secretariat of the Baltic Sea Region Programme has made a brochure presenting the project:
