We share a Sea

We share a sea is the story about five children from Copenhagen who examine whether it is true, as some claim, that we can help improving the marine environment by eating a “Diet for a clean Baltic.”
This teaching material is aimed at children in 5th and 6th grade – aged 11-13 –  designed to give the students an understanding of how food habits, agriculture and environmental impacts are interrelated. The overall aim is that they understand how they as consumers can influence the environment for example by eating locally produced organic food.
We Share a Sea
can be used for science and home economics and is also suitable for interdisciplinary projects including English and the national language.

We Share a Sea was produced by the Ecological Council in cooperation with BERAS Implementation. In addition to the textbook, which has been translated to several languages and are available for download below, more information on this project and additional material can be found at:

The travel of a water drop to the Baltic Sea (Vandens lašo kelionė į Baltijos jūrą)

This material is written for basic school teachers with a number of examples of school project works connected to Ecological Agriculture and Diet for a Clean Baltic. It was originally written in Lithuanian and was translated to English to enable BERAS experts to give their input. The text has based on these comments been reworked in Lithuanian. For use of the material outside of Lithuania, please contact Mrs. Edita Zaromskiene or Mrs. Laima Ruzgiene at Kaunas Education Centre.
